We need Stand Up Club Owners
The City of Atlanta has an interesting distinction… There is no full time stand up comedy club in the city limits. In a city that is trying to appeal to tourists, this is an amazing thing. Tourists want comedy clubs. Locals want comedy clubs, and the number of famous stand ups who started in Atlanta is amazing.
Yes, yes… there’s the Punchline in Sandy Springs, and there’s the Funny Farm way up in Roswell, but these clubs are not in the City and they certainly are not catching any of the tourist dollars. Additionally, as the city grows more prosperous and is populated by younger people who want clubs, a stand up club to which you could walk from a train station seems like a no brainer! There has been talk of reviving the Uptown Comedy Corner on Marietta Street and rumor had it that the Improv was to come back to Atlanta via Atlantic Station, but they won’t be walking distance from MARTA! Whether in Midtown, Buckhead, or Decatur, there’s a market waiting to be tapped.
Where have you gone Jerry Farber?

I guess everyone can just stick with Dad’s Garage and Whole World ITP.
I’d argue there’s nothing for tourists to do in Downtown Atlanta before there aren’t comedy clubs there. Most people go downtown when they’re in unfamiliar cities to try to find something to eat or do and EVERYTHING in Downtown Atlanta closes by 6pm.

There is a new comedy club that you may have missed and it’s in the heart of buckhead…Showcase Comedy Lounge…check out my site: http://www.showcasecomedy.com.
We have a mix of some of the funniest Atlanta comedians who perform every weekend and we even open up the stage for Comedy Karaoke, giving you the chance to share some of your own material. There’s a fun bar and lounge and we have a great time with hysterical local comedians.
Come on down and join us every Friday and Saturday night starting at 8PM.
We’re located behind the Landmark Diner right on Roswell Road.

I perform at the Showcase Comedy Lounge & I like it the best in Atlanta. It is perfect for crowds of 10 to 75. The food is good and the drinks are strong. It’s also got free parking if you want to take a $5 cab ride to Buckhead & party. I guarantee that’s cheaper than any other safe parking you will find.
Check it out and tell ‘em Dominic X Sent ya!!!

The Showcase Comedy Lounge in Buckhead is a great place to perform. It’s also a great place to see a show, especially when Tony SanAntonio is on stage! Yeah, ladies.

Uptown comedy corner is reopening in March 2006. Bigger show room that seats 350 and an expanded kitchen serving prime rib, filet mignon. Many great comics started at Uptown including Earthquake, Monique, Rickey Smiley, Finese Mitchell (snl), Bruce Bruce and many others. We will work to mold up coming comics and will be very comic friendly offering a lot of stage time to comics. We are coming back and we hope to be as well recieved as the first time.
