I have always been a little slow. Parents dropped me on my head. But I don't know what in the hell Ford speaking in Atlanta 20 years ago to the Republicans has to do with the price of green tea in China. Is it meant to bolster support for the present GOP who have us in a handbasket straight to hell on the fast track? Is it some sort of patriotic dribble. Did it mention Bob Woodwards release of the Ford interview where Gerald Ford said Iraq was a mistake? These current Rethuglicans don't know or care about statesmanship which Ford showed. These neo-cons are about personal gain at the expense of everything else including the good of the country itself. benmatheny.com

our subject matter isn’t cared about by anyone outside of Georgia

Yeah... it's a local blog. If no one outside the local area reads it, should I really care?

Frankly, I don't give a damn. Whatever anyone thinks of Atlanta's marketing genius (or lack thereof), that's not what this blog is about.

Robert enjoys writing for Bloglanta, and I -- Joe, the owner of Bloglanta -- happen to enjoy reading what Robert writes. There are others who happen to enjoy his writing, too.

Neither I nor any of the authors earn any money from Bloglanta. As you should be able to tell, there is no advertising. No one gets paid to write here. I pay the web host every year out of pocket to make sure the site stays up. I earn nothing from Bloglanta outside a little personal satisfaction. My own effort is worth it to me, and I greatly appreciate Robert's effort as well as the other authors who have contributed, past and present.

As of this point, I'm blocking w's comments.

What would you estimate your readership to be? You seem to pour a great deal of effort into this blog only to reap an occasional comment or two. I understand that "Hotlanta" is just a lame marketing tool which is laughed at by the rest of the US, and therefore your subject matter isn't cared about by anyone outside of Georgia, but I've seen more traffic in blogs about getting celery to grow faster.....

What in particular is it that you would have the GOP remember from these remarks?

As is true in the rest of the south, Goergia has gone the way of the non-thinking, blind-flag-waving, barrel of Bush supporters. There's something uniquely pathetic about taking pride in lacking sophistication, wrapping onself in the confederate flag, and then using some convoluted Biblical mandate as an excuse to kill people far, far away. The only thing expanding in the "new" south, as opposed to critical thinking, would be the population's collective waistline.
