Political Donations
In all the discussion of public officials, policy and the shape of
Atlanta, we sometimes forget to follow the money.
Not today… Thanks to
opensecrets.org we can find out where Atlanta’s movers and shakers
are putting their political contributions and infer what policy
decisions may result.
The key, of course, is that the wealthy invest in politicians who will
see their intrests as personal concerns.
Let’s Start with Georgia Pacific Chairman Pete Correll:
|
CORRELL, A D |

CORRELL, ALSTON D MR JR |

Bush, George W |
Clearly, Georgia Pacific’s leader sees its companies future in the
hands of Republicans. Fewer environmental regulations and lower
taxes for GP.
BTW, This entry would be impossible without Joe’s expert editting assistance.
Next we’ll look at Charles Brewer, proprioter of Green Street
Properties

First, let’s recognize that Brewer showed some restraint. Instead
of giving $2000, he was frugal and spent less.
Let’s also recognize that he too gave in support of his
interests. Cathy Woolard is one of the leading advocates for the
Beltline, the success of which would greatly affect the success of
Greenstreet properties.

Somehow he’s turned his own company into a political
organization! Apparently, one that is supportive of Republicans,
even Tom
Delay!
And How about John Aderhold, who built GSU’s Classroom Building?

Mr. Aderhold alerted us to the ‘Loose

favorite Republican Candidates.

One wonders whether Home Depot sees this as greasing both skis so that
they face no opposition to their interests.
And finally let’s look at Mama Coke shall we?
