Rider Friendly Bus Stops!

MARTA Bus Stops are getting better.  MARTA’s stops used to be obelisks but now many stops have shelters.  Even better, many now have the complete schedules for all the buses that stop there.  While costly, this represents a significant upgrade in useability and pleasantness for riders.  According to MARTA, over 200 of these stops have been completed and another 400 are soon on the way!
Want to see one of the new stops in finished form? Go to Lavista rd., just west of Briarcliff, just across from Nicola’s!

A writer for Creative Loafing did a great story a couple of years ago about what it was like to rely on MARTA for all her transportaion needs for 2 weeks. It would be interesting to see a blog reported similar experience. It’s fun to talk about how great mass transit should be, its quite another to put up with service from MARTA.

Amber: He’s not been to ‘Shroom trivia before. Not at that location, at least :)
Ted: I just might take you up on that, with a twist, since I have to drive to a MARTA station to get there. Today, it took me 40 minutes to move two miles on I-75 due to a bad three-car wreck. It looked as though someone decided to stop in the middle of the highway. Due to illnesses running around, I was still the first one in the office.

I re-read this and it looks like I’m trying to punk out mass transit advocates. I regret that and I’m not, I consider myself a mass transit advocate. I genuinely think it would be cool to have someone give a MARTA riding blog report.
